Tales From My D&D Campaign Wiki

Urruk is a large desert in the center of the continent that is home to the Orcs, who are the only sentient race known to live there on a permanent basis. It is located at the center of the continent, bordering on every other major nation based on the landmass. The climate of the region is very harsh, though the temperature in the desert varies based on location. The few signs of life in the desert include camels and griffins, as well as scorpions of both regular and monstrous size.

Urruk was originally a swamp, but was transformed into a desert by a powerful curse inflicted by the goddess Dialiah in her rage at the death of the elven king Kelvoras at the hands of the Orcs the Shatterwar.
