The Shadowfin Heresy was a rebellion of the monitors of the Shadowfin monastery against Emperor Sabino of the Deluvian Empire, led by Godfin Shuazul.
The threat posed by Shuazul was so great, that the Emperor felt forced to send a Deathfin from each of the four other monasteries against him, in contravention of the ancient tradition of "one monitor, one mission". His (flimsy) justification was that each member of The Four, as they became known, technically had a slightly different mission that just so happened to all involve fighting Shuazul:
- Deathfin Kurgoran was tasked to kill Shuazul.
- Deathfin Tarun (Sons of Baal) was tasked to stop Shuazul from reaching the capitol.
- Deathfin Jularu was tasked to defend the Deluvian Empire against the rebellion.
- Deathfin Zaal was tasked to take Shuazul's head.
