Kaavin Tayria was the leader of the Drow who invaded the mine in Corso's Chasm from the Underdark. He was a fairly brutal commander, massacring the Ibixian slaves when they, wrongly assuming that the changeover in leadership was a point of weakness, attempted to rebel against their taskmasters. He was also unusually tall, a trait which Drow occasionally gain due to recessive genes left over from their Elven heritage.

After Black killed him, he took his +1 armour and wore it for the next eight episodes, before getting an upgrade from GE-7 as thanks for saving his life in Ginaron.
